Prof. Uri Shani

 Soil and Water – Scientific Director.

Received a B.Sc. in Soil and Water Sciences, a M.Sc. in Soil Chemistry and a Ph.D. in Soil Physics, all from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He also completed a residency (Post-Doc.) at the Department of Plant, Soil and Bio-meteorology, Utah State University, Utah, USA.

Prof. Shani served as a General Manager of several institutes and companies in the private and public sectors in Israel: Arava R&D Center, Kibbutz Yotvata Dairies, "Arava Export Growers" and Israel's Governmental Water and Sewage Authority. He was also a research scientist at the Department of Soil & Water at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. As of 2011 he serves as SVP, Novel Agriculture Technologies in Makhteshim-Agan Industries, a worldwide leader in branded off-patent crop protection solutions. In parallel, Prof. Shani is Chairman of Israel's Steering Committee for the Red Sea – Dead Sea Channel international project.
